About Us

We have been running classes at PLAY ‘N’ LEARN for over eight years, and have trained over 500 dogs of all shapes and sizes.

All of our classes have been fully assessed, and meet the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (“APTD”) standard of Kind, Fair, Effective Training.

 

Julia

Julia is our senior trainer.  She is mad about dogs, having had dogs throughout her life.  She now enjoys the company of two dogs, Border Collie Jemma with whom she competes in Agility and Flyball competitions and a rescue Collie-cross, Sally, who is work in progress!

Julia completed the two-year course on Animal Psychology with the Centre of Applied Pet Ethology in 2001 at the Open College Network. Julia is a fully qualified member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (Membership number: 00818)

Chris

Assistant trainer, Chris, has a first-class degree in animal behaviour and business management.  She has spent two years working in a rescue centre as a trainer, re-homer and kennel hand, and has worked with a wide variety of dogs.

Chris owns three dogs.  Chris competes at agility competitions with two of her dogs Roxy and Nutmeg, and is aiming to enter obedience competitions with Tyzer as soon as he is old enough.

Brian and Claire

Brian and Claire help run the classes at Play 'N' Learn, and they have over 12 years of experience between them. 

With their  support we can ensure that our classes always run smoothly, and every dog and owner gets all of the attention they need.
